Chair's Chat January 2026

Dear Ringers,

Happy New Year! It’s been lovely reading about all your Christmas Together Events (and I think there might even be a couple more to come!). We love that your events take place from November right through to February, and all we ask in return for your music are a couple of photos and a short write-up for the newsletter.

We had an excellent day at the Birthday Rally earlier this month, despite the cold and frosty morning (and icy car park). It was really good to see a mixture of full teams, part teams and individuals. Coming to events as individuals or with just 2 or 3 from a team is becoming more popular – just make sure that you book the right amount of table space, so the organisers can make their floor plan work for everyone. There is nothing more annoying than a team asking for 12ft of table, and then only 3 of them turn up! Obviously, things sometimes change from sending in the booking form to the actual event, so please do let the even organiser know if numbers change.

We have several workshops planned for this year, starting with a 4-in-hand afternoon in March. One of the committee’s main aims is to put on events for the ringers of the region, so if you have a request for a workshop on a particular topic, drop me an email and we will discuss it at our next committee meeting.

I hope to see many of you at events in 2026.
