A Celebratory Handbell Festival Service for 2023

Collection for the Cathedral fabric fund

Guildford Cathedral - Saturday 17th June 2023

3:00 pm Service with morning rehearsal (time to be confirmed)

It was lovely to be back ringing together in the Cathedral in 2022, and we look forward to welcoming ringers to the 2023 Service.

Please note that the maximum length for tables will be 36 feet.

To allocate the space fairly, please only request sufficient space for the number of ringers who are taking part.

MUSIC: The celebratory theme will reflect the King’s coronation, including music from England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

The pieces are: Zadok the Priest; March from the Occasional Overture; All People That on Earth Do Dwell; Skye Boat Song; All Through the Night; All Creatures of our God and King; Irish Blessing and Fanfare for a Special Day.

Ringers will need to prepare their music carefully before the morning rehearsal at the Cathedral on 17th June.

READERS: If anyone would like to offer to read (maximum one per team), please fill in the name in the appropriate space.

ADDITIONAL NEEDS: Please indicate any additional needs on the form. Wheelchair/mobility aid users, etc. must be declared to comply with Cathedral Health and Safety policy.

REHEARSALS: Matthew Greenfield, our conductor, will lead teams in their preparation for the Service, starting promptly with a morning rehearsal at Guildford Cathedral,

GU2 7UP on 17th June prior to the Service in the afternoon.
